The Words: What if you achieved literary success with a book...you didn't write?

I just wanted to share with you a movie that I'm excited about. If you're a writer or an author, you'll understand why I can't wait to see this film that opens in theaters September 21, 2012!

The Words is the official 2012 Sundance Film Festival selection about a young writer facing the consequences of choosing ambition over love.

Starring Bradley Cooper, Oscar®-winner Jeremy Irons, Dennis Quaid, Olivia Wilde and ZoĆ« Saldana, the layered romantic drama The Words follows young writer Rory Jansen who finally achieves long sought after literary success after publishing the next great American novel. There's only one catch - he didn't write it. As the past comes back to haunt him and his literary star continues to rise, Jansen is forced to confront the steep price that must be paid for stealing another man's work, and for placing ambition and success above life's most fundamental three words.

  1. First of all, welcome back Laura!
Thanks for the review, the movie sounds interesting. I have a passion for writing too (apart from my blog, I mean), and I would love to watch it.
I saw "The Ghostwriter" in 2010. Although writing was part of the background of this spy-story, I loved the movie and its atmosphere.
Let's say that I'm generally touched - as a passionate of writing - by movies and books where the concept of memory or remembrance is very strong and is the scaffolding of the whole story.

    1. Thanks, Jay! Sometimes life gets a little crazy for a while. I haven't seen Ghostwriter, but now that you mention it, it was one of those movies I wanted to see and didn't get around to. I miss going to the big screen to watch "adult" movies! The last movie I saw at the theatre was Journey 2: The Mysterious Island in 3D with my family.

      Thanks for stopping by!

  2. A film about plagiarism sounds intriguing, will add it to my list of movies to look out for.
